A pair of worn out tennis shoes so many sets they’ve played, they’ve lost too many games to love now worn out im afraid. They’ve played their part, in many wins. Victories on the court. Bouncing on the baseline yes, sometimes falling short. The laces now a tangled mess. The soles are worn right trough. The canvas full of holes, you’ll see, the eyelets all askew But yet they still show character. just take a closer look. There could be some potential with, a following wind and luck So don't discard them - not so quick! They’re quirky, yes I know, hang them from a silver pin and put them up on show Then watch as people look and ask, and wonder why they’re there. Just tell them it's a tennis thing and let them stand and stare. It’s just a pair of worn out pumps there, hanging in the air, to me they’re art and priceless and they’re really very rare.
